Living in here in Florida, we have a dehumidifier plugged in all the time when not camping. Our 2 year old trailer still smells new and no mildew.:)

We use the accordion type gate to keep our puppies out of the bed which should work to keep a child in bed.
When not in use it folds flat and can be kept in place with a bungee cord.

the unit was not installed correctly.
Do you have rca jacks on the ceiling at the tv mount?
If so pill the dvd player out and check that the factory hooked them up...

Just glue a cap on the conduit and insert a screw that will fit in the auxiliary track. of the awning.
The poles hold the awning up and the straps hold them...
