Dinette to double recliner modification w/pics
Since the new 2017 2501ts don't have the option of a couch or recliner we ordered it with the u-shaped dinette. I have removed that and replaced it with a double recliner.

Nice job. Looks like it fits perfect.
Maybe insulate the outside storage door?
I looked at a 2501 TS on Sunday.
Loved the floorplan- except for the dinette.
You took care of that.
I would do the same if I had one.

Great job!
Where do you sit to eat and are those some sort of wall hugger recliners?
Are they fastened to the floor in any way?
Are you worried they will "walk" away when you're towing on rough roads?
Inquiring minds want to know!

I insulated the compartment door with Rmax and spray foamed the space between the door and wall (there was a gap). I thought the carpet would help as well and it was a cheap and easy install.
We can still use the table it came with by screwing the mount to the floor and putting the table up as needed. The slide is high enough that will fit over the mount but the mount would be visible and tripable so we haven't decided whether to do that or simple trays and just have bigger meals outside if we had company.
It is a wall hugger but not zero. This particular recliner needs to be about 5 inches away. Others are from 0-3 inches. Measurement is key. I waited till I had the dinette out to measure the space. It was 76 wide and 41 deep.
I will attach the recliner to the floor I just haven't yet. It's a simple process. But it weighs about 180 lbs so I'm not sure how much walking it would do, but why chance it? I left the back set of seat belts attached to the floor and they fit up into the recliner just fine. I will tell you that the steel brackets with the side seat belts were what made it difficult to remove. It seemed as though the dinette was built around them.
We haven't taken a trip yet but I suspect it will be more comfortable. I think counterspace/table top use will be the most challenging but as of yet I haven't used the fold up counter and we RV'ers are most adaptable!

How about a table base between the cab seats? (if they swivel)
You will love the recliners- we do. (2 single units)

I took my benches out of the U-shaped dinette and repurposed them in my garage(to the BOSS's displeasure). I hated to just throw them away. So Medic1, what did you do with yours?
Here's what I did to mine.

Unfortunately, I had to cut them into 3 pieces to get them out so they were pretty much useless. I sold the cushions for $40 to someone who had a toy hauler and used them in the back section to sit in.

I got $300 for mine with the table but no leg.
Only used once- first person that came on the first day of a Craiglist ad.
Buys a lot of beer.

(From Mrs. Medic1) Dan, odd tidbit here: My husband is a retired EMS Coordinator/EMT-P, musician, drives a Chevy Avalanche and we just lost our labrador (Miles) in August. Small world, huh?

Yep, small world.
Like your mod cause if we get another trailer, we may do the same mod with the dinette or sofa.

I have seen that cockpit table on the Coachmen Concord. Maybe call a coachmen dealer. You may be able to make one much cheaper than what you will pay at a dealer.

Make one.
I made 2 tables out of pine- stained and urethaned them.
You can get the hardware at any RV store.
You can even buy the drop in cup holders of you wish.
Then you can get the dimensions you really want- not be subject to what they have.

Nice job, we have the recliners in our 36CKTS and love them but noticed the space between them and working on a plain to open it up and add a piano hing so that we can lift it up and use the wasted space, will post some pictures when its done.
