I think for a steak I;ll stick to the good old Charcoal grill. Much better tasting. Ya all just don't understand the true meaning of grilling. Later RJD

Yup, they're great for breakfast, but I refuse to eat a steak, chops, chicken, burgers and ribs unless it's cooked with a flame or coals.

If you have a sous vide unit, nothing beats a sous vide steak with a final sear on the blackstone!!!!!

There is not much you can't cook on a blackstone. Just think about how to do it

I have all stainless steel grill, it’s made by Holland grill, it’s called a Companion. DW got it for me at Christmas one year, about $350 bucks, not only looks great but cooks great. It has a stainless steel grate, it sure is a beautiful grill but a pain in the butt to clean. The best way to clean it is while the grill is warm so you can wash the grill with soapy water. The Blackstone you just spray water on the grill, clean that off, put some oil on the grill and wipe the oil off, two minutes. The griddle cooks anything you can think of. I still take the grill with me but it’s not used much, maybe to grill a pork shoulder for barbecue

Like I said I love a big area to cook on but. And that is a big but to me. I love the flavor of a barbeque. Been thinking of getting one but still not convinced. I think it limits you, am I right or wrong.
This is EXACTLY my dilemma.

LOL, same here...I even bought the 22” last year from Walmart...brought it home and took it back the next day.

I realized when we cook in a cold/windy environment it doesn’t retain heat like a Weber.

But then there are those perfect breakfasts and Philly cheesesteaks.....I might have to get one for the house to sit beside the big Weber, smoker, Weber kettle....

Your wind guards are a great idea. We own a 17" Blackstone and when it is windy the grill has to work harder. Maybe Blackstone should alter their grill, otherwise it is a GREAT grill.

You guys............. man!

It takes a lot of paraphenalia to cook while camping. Especially if you're gone for months!

GMG Smoker
Small lp grill (like 2 burgers small)
5500 btu burner for outside deep frying
Blackstone griddle
NuWave cooktop
Instapot
Air Fryer (May ditch that one, it seems to do very little)
T-Fal
and various pots, pans, scrubbers, and whatnot

I have the coleman roadtrip and the cleanup after a trip was horrible's. I love my 22" Blackstone. In the last week gave done chicken breasts, sausage with peppers, onions and portobello mushrooms, and today for dinner I just did burgers and steamed/griddled broccoli all on the Blackstone. Will I ever get rid of my 4 burner stainless Weber? Hell no, but for traveling and ease of use and cleanup this is great

I solved the clean-up problem with disposable aluminum pie pans from Walmart. 3 for a buck. Cut the centers out for the burners and pull them out and throw them away when you're done. Clean-up is just a basic wipe down, same as a griddle. Improvise, adapt & overcome.

My thought... If you are cooking over hardwood charcoal or coal from a wood fire, a grill is wonderful. If your fuel is propane, you may as well use a griddle.

Since I'm not going to haul charcoal or use a campfire, I'll go with the Blackstone. Don't want to do steak in a fry pan inside the trailer...

I've used my 22" Blackstone out in 30* temps with wind and got great results on steak and burgers. Burgers ended up tasting like the ones from our favorite burger bar.

A set of triangle welding magnets and aluminum foil does a good job as a wind block.

I may have mentioned before, but I engineered and adjustable lpg regulator for mine and greatly improved my cooking issues.

IWannaCamp, could you provide more details about your adjustable LP regulator? What is it and what issues did it address? I've got the low pressure quick connect to the camper. I also have magnets to hold aluminum foil to block the wind but still.have some cold spots.

They aren’t all the same. I have the 17” with this reg

I ordered a cousin to this

Then I had to attach to the grill connector and I “engineered” mine which I don’t recommend. I think the grill supply was 9/16 18tpi(memory) and I searched pretty hard to get that to NPT to get to my LP hose.

Then I learned one could buy what I wanted

Be advised. They aren’t all the same. I had a 20lp conversion hose from my Big Buddy heater, but it would not get hot enough....as compared to the 1lb bottles. I didn’t want to connect to the RV as I preferred using a separate 20lp tank.

If that doesn’t fix it let me know and I will try to help further.
