Bracket On Trailer - For Outside Table?

Hi. I posted an introductory email in the new members area. This is my first post asking for help.

We just bought a 2008 T-291RL. It has a bracket - about 12 inches long - attached to the outside on the door-side of the unit. It looks to me like it is for some kind of table with a rabbited end that slides onto the bracket, but I am not sure. Obviously whatever it is for didn't get included in our purchase, and the previous owner didn't know what was supposed to go there.

Any idea???

A photo would be good. It might be for an outside grill that is an option on some units.

Two items can be fitted to this bracket. One is a small slide shelf or table and the other is a optional grill.

The shelf to me is useless. I guess it is intended where you do not have a
supplied table by the RV park or you are dry camping to be used when you are using the grill to set a plate or pan or sauce while cooking.

The grill, which is a option that sells for around $165.00, has a bracket that comes with it that slides into the slide strip. In my opinion, the grill
is over priced, sub par. I have seen better grills in Lowe's, Home Depot with the same mounting bracket that will fit the strip on your camper.

Does your RV have a propane outlet near the bracket? Mine came with a
small door with a pull out propane hose for the grill.

I have seen the grills (brand new in the box) advertised on the forum for sell at a great reduced price.

Thanks Daisy Boykin. This makes sense because in fact the trailer does have a propane outlet very close to the bracket.
As I already have a portable BBQ, that doesn't have a way to slide on to this bracket, the table would actually be a good thing.
Would you or anyone else have any thoughts regarding where I could find this particular table??

I think if I were placing just a table on the wall, I would make it a longer table to fit the entire bracket. You could make your own table. I believe this is the hardware.

Thanks Triguy. I did see this bracket system before, and in fact I may end up going for it. BUT, if I could possibly find the original table or find out where to get one, I would be able to keep the existing bracket without drilling more or different holes. Just trying to lessen any possibility of future leaks or other problems.

Thought I'd give the forum a try on this.

I know what you mean. I will say the table that came with the trailer is not the best quality. The one on mine is delaminating so I'm thinking of building my own.

Also, I don't think you would need to drill into the camper if you already have that bracket.

Triguy is correct about the hardware.

The problem with the original tables is they are tiny

We had custom table built for our last trailer. And we used a foldable adjustable leg on it. Both hardware parts are available at this site
Bracket and Leg Hardware here
It was always level (adjustable leg) and we added a 2nd bracket to the trailer so we had multiple set up options.

Gekog, the table can be purchased from Forest River accessories with all the hardware. Mine has a small piano hinge on a folding leg that fits against the side of the RV to keep the shelf in the upright position. As stated before by another post, it is not weather prof and will delaminate if it gets wet.

You have to be careful with the grill you use and the propane hose. The propane system already had a regulator on your propane tank. The grill you use can not have a regulator built-in. So if you use a after market grill, you will have to remove the grill regulator in order for the grill to work with your system.

I think if you go to the correct section on the forum, advertise for the shelf and grill that you would like to purchase. I have seen them on the "CLASSIFIED" for sale at a great reduced price. You may just fill you order and save $$$$. Look at the date of 8-12-2011 on "CLASSIFIED" , there are a couple for sale with phone numbers.
The name of the grill is the "SIDEKICK".
I just did a search on Google, they are available
everywhere!!!!!
