Camp Chef oven with 2 burners
Has anyone used the Camp Chef oven? I was wondering if bakes evenly our oven in the camper burns things, temp. is hard to control. I saw Costco has one for under 200 bucks. Plus it would be nice to keep the heat out of the camper here in FL.

yes, that's all i cook on. the oven does very well with even temps and the 1 lb bottles last longer than you would think. cook times tend to be about 2 min longer

I picked one up a couple months ago, figured I couldnt go wrong with the versatility it offered. Looking forward to giving it a good workout in the coming months.

The reason I ask is our new xlr only has a microwave, so I figured I would get one.
Our last rv oven was very difficult to control temp and it always burned the biscouts. I was just wondering if the campchef was more controlable like the oven at home.

I have been looking at the "Camp Chef " also, The Wife wants the red one with two burners and the detachable griddle. Problem is when I went to order one. It no longer had the detachable griddle, but instead it has one burner and a grill. So the DW said hold off.

Saw the red one with the griddle at Costco saturday it was 150 or 170 dollars, I know it was under 200 bucks. I think I will pick one up tomorrow.

Camp Chef Oven
We've used ours for the past two years. It is a great little oven, we bought the carrying case too. The oven heats up quickly, but does radiate heat so you'll want to use it outdoors. Ours does not have a thermostat but a gas regulator (low to high). The flame stays on the entire time so the temperature keeps climbing. Nevertheless, it just takes a little practice. I put food in before the oven reaches the recommended temperature, let the temps swing up a little too high, and then shut off the oven to let the food finish cooking. It's fun!
The heat is evenly distributed inside the oven - no hot spots. The top burners are large and it is nice to have two extra burners when you have a gang to feed. Cleanup is easy too, and as someone else has already posted, the 1lb propane tanks last a long time. We love ours.

I've never used their oven, but I give two thumbs to Camp Chef products and customer service. I have one of their large camp stoves and cast iron griddles and love them. On one trip I noticed a small hairline crack in the griddle. I called their customer service and the lady said she would just send me a new one. I asked if I needed to return the cracked one and she said no, don't worry about it. A few days later I had a new griddle. That kind of service will keep me as a loyal customer; I'm about to buy one of their propane fire pits.

Cant wait to use the Camp Chef oven! Since purchasing this winter, have been researching camp kitchens/tabletops that are large and sturdy enough to support this oven and yet still want portability and light weight to carry along. What are Camp Chef oven owners using to place their ovens on? Size, Brand and model would be extremely helpful. Thanks!

The DW came home from Costco today with the camp Camp Chef portable stove and oven. We are heading out this weekend, (The fish are biting). The DW plans on trying out the oven. I will let you know how it works.

We used our new Camp Chef Oven and Stove this weekend. The oven worked very well. DW baked a peach cobbler for 1 hr at 350. Then the next day snacks for 20-25 min. at 350.
This weekend we had high winds on Sunday night. 40 mph sustained with gusts to 70-75 mph. Thought the tt was going to blow over. When we arrived home the power was out so DW used the Camp Chef to cook dinner using the top burners. It looks like we will get at least 2 hrs on a single bottle of propane.
I think I will buy an adapter and hose so I can run it off the tt gas line. The carrying case is also on the list.
