Dessert for Powerboatr
Dessert? Go to the store and buy a Mrs. Smith’s frozen Apple Pie. Bake according to directions. While it’s baking make the following:
CINNAMON ICE CREAM SAUCE
1 qt. vanilla ice cream
1 tbsp. sugar
2 tsp. ground cinnamon
Set the ice cream out to soften. Combine sugar and cinnamon. Stir into softened ice cream. Refreeze. Serve with the Apple Pie.
Don’t get to filled up on this dessert because later, sitting around the campfire, I'm going to serve Margaritas with Tortilla chips and Salsa. For the beer drinkers I'll have Fritos and a chili cheese dip. For any wine drinkers in the group I serve a Zinfandel with cheese, sausage, and crackers.
If anyone brings kids to the campfire I let them make S'mores. I'm soooo ready to go camping.

No, we haven't been camping in ND or MN. However, a long, long time ago I was stationed in Grand Forks, ND and from there took a few trips to Duluth, MN so those two states aren't really virgins for me.

Well I doubt that we met, but I was stationed at Grand Forks from Nov '64 to Sep '65. I remember that winter as bitterly cold and snowy and we also a very late spring snow. That was also my first experience with cars that had engine block heaters and people bringing their car batteries inside at night so they could start their car in the morning.

No, I wasn't here in '64. I spent most of 1964 in my mother's womb. :-)
I arrived in GF back in 1988.
PS...I have used my block heater all week!

Cooking out at camping is the real adventure for the family at river side. The Desserts are the easiest and the yummiest items to bring with you in camp fire and river camping. This recipe of apple pie is so delicious and tasteful.

OH man...mouth watering, slobbering all over myself! Boy that sounds good. And of course, you haven't been to Texas yet either (very odd that you've been all around it, but not in it??!!). Because if you had, you would know that that Cinnamon Ice Cream Sauce would also go very nicely with a bowl of hot Peach Cobbler! Oh man...you really got the taste buds fired up!

That really sounds great. It will go perfectly with the fresh apple pies my wife always makes when we go apple picking in the fall!!
