NEW Green Mountain Grill/Smoker

Hello Fellow RVer's,

Hubby and I just got a new grill/smoker.

Fired up our new little Davy Crockett Green Mountain Grill smoker.
Going to test drive it later. So cool has wifi with an interface with my cell phone. Small enough to fit in the back of the F250 and take camping.
68 lbs, 20.5” H x 27.75” W x 17.5” D
220 inch cooking surface.

Love ours! I've got its big brother at home but use the davey crocket just as often. Grab a piece of "frog mat" from your dealer to use for bacon or small stuff.
Good eaten ahead
Happy Campin!

My wife loves the ribs I make on ours. Put some tin-foil in the bucket for easy clean-up...

I am still leaning how to make different items. The smoke flavor is a blast.

Hello jtstromsburg....... "frog mat"? Can you clarify? Is this a thing from a GMG dealer or FR dealer?

Here's a link to Amazon. My local GMG dealer has it in rolls and cuts however much you want off. I use it for bacon. Bacon wrapped peppers, and anything delicate or too small for regular grates.

I know that the modern age is leaving me behind, why do you have a wifi connection to your phone on a grill?

The GMG can connect to my phone to adjust temp, monitor food temp, notify when food temp has been reached, notify when out of pellets.
It can also connect to my home wifi network to download updates and monitor cooking if I'm away from home. It really is pretty cool. Don't have to go check anything. It lets me know what is going on.

It is a great feature.

220 in.........is that sq. in. I presume? Is that about 14X15? Do you know how tall it is inside?

I have a Rec Tec Mini. It is amazingly awesome. Grill size is 14X20 and it has folding legs to fit in basement of 5er. Only drawback is that the top is a rounded thing....and only 'high' right in the middle. Yours looks more squared off........ meaning "Drunk chicken holders" or big bean pots might fit better.......even though you have smaller total grill dimensions.

I wish I could design one of these myself..... they all work, and after having every smoker known to man, the pellet smokers fix all problems.......but the issues are mobility vs. cooking size........at least to me

The wifi signal is from the grill itself to your cell phone. You can turn the grill on/off from the phone and set the cooking temperature. You can also program the grill to be at a certain temperature for a certain amount of time and change to a different temperature and time. It's very cool. We've had ours for about 3 months and I'm still learning how to use it. Does anyone have favorite recipes that you'd like to share?

BandJCarm, Crazy question I'm sure, but are you're happy you went with the Rec Tec?
I looked at GMG Davy Crockett (friend has one), Traeger Tailgater and the Rec Tec Mini. I felt like the Rec Tec was a better overall product/size for what I wanted and was willing to spend a bit more to get it. Living in Canada, its costing me more then the other 2 would have, but in the end I was comfortable with the decision. I pick it up on Wednesday.

I've looked at these. How much pellets does it use to smoke a normal roast?

Hello, I just did a Brisket for 2. 75 degrees outside, cooking for 12 hours and I used maybe 12 cups of pellets, or 3/4 hopper full. Even in Canada I buy 28 lbs of GMG pellets for $30 bucks.
