Portable Weber q120 or q220 bbq
I am trying to decide which portable BBQ to buy. I am tossed up between the q120 and the q220. About 70 percent of the time it is just my wife and I that go camping with the trailer. The other 30 percent we have 2 other people with us. Can anyone who has the above mentioned BBQ let me know your thoughts? As aside note I can buy the q120 for $190 plus tax or the q220 for $250 plus tax.
Thanks in advance.
Chris

I have the Weber 200 series and love it! Have had it for over 5yrs now and it still works as good as new. I would definitely go with the bigger size. It doesn't take up that much more space, and the extra grilling area is worth it if you have company. I have the Camco grill that came with our camper, but go to the Weber first and use the other as overflow.

I have the 220, great grill and like the built in temp gauge and heavy duty large cooking grate.
I also use the weber stand for these grills and enjoy it's easy setup, grill retains great heat due to thicker shell than other grills on the market.

You can't go wrong with either one ! IMHO the Webers are quite simply the best portable grills out there. We have a 100 series and it is fine for our normal use, but if we had to do it over , we would likely opt for the 200 series. The only improvement we would recommend to the Weber folks (if we had the opportunity !) would be to re-design the burner system to incorporate the ability to turn one side completely off, to enable indirect heat cooking.

Thank you for the replays. From what you have told me it looks like I should go with the Q220. As a little background, I have one of the red Coleman BBQ and it as hotspots and is not that easy to clean and this is why I am looking at the weber as I understand they are a good BBQ.

I have the Q220 and picked it up for $209 free shipping and no tax from Amazon.com. The Q220 has the temp guage and the Q200 doesn't.
Just checked and the Q220 on Amazon is now $229.

We've had the 220 for a couple of years and use it at home and on the road, its a great grill. Only con is its a bit heavy but its got to be the best portable grill going with the ability to use the small propane bottles or the hose for larger tanks.

Your statement "Only con is its a bit heavy"
A bit heavy? Come on. If it was light and cheaply made people would be complaining. For the money it is a great portable grill and solidly made.
They also have a great rolling cart if you need for $49.

Q 200 is fantastic! I had the roadtrip and the Weber is far superior. I took off the regulator and added the quick connect so I can run off the coach LP. I got the Weber griddle for it and it's a little too small. It's good for cooking up veggies with your steak because you have have the grill surface available for grilling. But again it's too small. I went ahead and ordered a Lodge griddle last week and it seems to work great.
Only con on the Weber is only one temperature zone. I can definitely live with that. Should last for years.
Here is the griddle I ordered if anyone is interested. Has a grease trap and fits with the lid down on 200 series:

The reason it is more expensive for me is because I am in Ontario. Shipping through amazon kills me. I wish it didn't.

It's just my wife and I and we have the Q120. It's plenty big enough for us and could feed another 4 guests easily. I also have the griddle for it and it cooks a mean pancake breakfast! Very nice setup. I found a post on another forum that describes how to connect the Q grills to the low pressure gas line on the new campers. You remove the regulator and adapt the fitting to a hose. Stick a quick connector on the end of the hose and you're cooking with camper gas.

We have a Q220 and it's great. The weight isn't a big deal if you take the cast-iron grilling surface out and handle it separately. The only downside for us is that the thing won't fit in any of the cargo bays unless I take the lid off. It's about 3/4" too tall. It's not a big deal, as it's on two dowel pins with spring clips.
I toyed with the idea of putting a T in the MH's propane line, but decided I didn't want a 10' hose running from the high-pressure side of the system. I had heard tales of hook-ups on the low pressure side of the system being a problem because the MH's regulator wasn't accurate enough to control the low flow rate for the grill.
In the end, I bought a propane bottle stabiliser ring from CW and bolted it down in a cargo compartment and got a low-profile 10-lb propane tank that fits into it. No problem with the tank rolling around when we're driving.

We have the Q220...it's kept on the Weber stand, folded and fits great in our cargo bay. Also removed grill regulator and hooked up line directly to our camper's quick connect propane line...how easy

We've had a Baby Q since they first came out. It's a wonderful grill a little bit on the small side but it works just fine for us. If I ever have to replace it I would probably get the next size up though. One great thing is if the cast iron grate ever gets to dirty we just throw it in the campfire for a little whlie and it comes out nice and clean. Weber products are the best.

You'd probably be fine with the Q120 but go for the Q220, we sell them here where I work and most people say they could use that little extra sometimes then you have if you need it.

Joy and I have used a Baby Q for about 6 years. It is wonderful! The cast iron grilling surface guarantees even heating and cooking. It's also extremely easy to clean.
The only complaint that I have is not so much about the Baby Q as it is about our 2006 Flagstaff 831BHSS. The Baby Q slid into the storage compartment of our Outback with no problem. Not so on the Flagstaff. Even though there is considerably more storage than we had on the OB, nevertheless the compartment openings are not as high. So, the Baby Q won't fit into the compartment unless I remove the lid. This is not a "show stopper" but it definitely is a PITA!

Weber Q 220 propane BBQ
I just purchased the Weber Q 220. So far I love it: here's my review on YouTube.
We have a bigger family, but I didn't want to purchase a portable + standalone grill. So far the Weber Q 220 seems like the perfect in-between. I purchased the optional stand + large propane adapter hose (for home grilling).
The size feels perfect for a family of 6. We haven't gone camping with it yet, but it definitely feels like a good portable (despite it being a bit heavier).
