So, for those among us who are culinary ignorant to this tool. How does it work exactly?

I should have written a sales contract for a 10% cut with the manufacturer had I known!!! Seriously, I laughed at this thing when we got it as a gift, and literally the first time I used it on a trip outside I was sold. As far as the amp usage, don't know but I know you can't run this machine with the A/c, microwave and a vacuum cleaner

I lnow. I was thinking about asking for a 10% contract with the FRF decal manufacturers.

I looked up the specs on it and found its 1235 watts max power draw.

It still looks like it's too open to heat anything,but I guess it works.

My wife brought me a Waring Belgium Waffle maker recently,so I guess I'll wait awhile before buying another gadget.

We have one, and love it for all the reasons mentioned above! Our turntable has turned a beautiful dark gray/brown. It sure beats the oven for frozen french fries!

We have one at home and one in the camper. It makes fantastic roasted asparagus too! Just toss it in some olive oil, salt and pepper. We've made Brussels sprouts, cookies, just about anything you need to bake but don't want to heat up the camper for.

We had two of them sold them at a yard sale. Used a couple of times. Does what it says. Just takes up a lot of space.

thanks for the post,.......just ordered from WalMart, free pick up tomorrow at local store, this is a good item for us,
I removed the two propane tanks and hardware, filled by the dealer that's a lot of weight that we don't use, .........wife is Chinese and only cooks with elect.(2 rice cookers, hot plate, slow cooker, ect.). she uses the oven as storage for dishes, .....it looks like with this, I can still do oven cooking on those occasions when I gotta have a hot pizza, ....I get by with the microwave now, but somethings are just better from the oven

Sharon,........I'm interested in how is best to cook the frozen french fries? At home now, I use a baking screen. Like any screen, its open underneath them and allows cooking on all sides without having to turn them and they turn out great. What do you find is the best way to cook on this device? ..do you flip them over at some point?...any advice is appreciated...thanks

Yes I know it heats from the top and bottom, and a regular oven does also, but frozen fries in a regular baking pan or even laying on a metal cookie sheet will be soft on the bottom if not flipped during the baking process. The baking screen that I use at home eliminates that need to flip because it allows baking on all sides at the same time. Even though this heats both sides, unless I'm missing something, with the fries laying on the metal plate it seems to be the same as them laying on a cookie sheet in a regular oven. With the possibility of the bottom sides still being soft while the top sides could be nice and toasted. Unless Sharon suggest a trick to use, I guess I'll just have to try it and see what turns out.

Just another gadget I'd have to find room for. We make pizzas without turning on the oven - on our gas or charcoal grill. And you can't beat the flavor. But hey, if it works for you, that's all that matters!
