OC Brackets (Awning pole attaching kit)
Sorry to hijack your thread Ron, but to clear up the bracket questions.
Kits include 2 upper pole attaching brackets, 2 ss pole pivot bolts & ss nyloc nuts, 2 hitch pins, 2 lower stow brackets, 4 pop rivets, (2) 1/4 x 3/4 ss bolts & ss nyloc nuts for optional bolts for the upper brackets, instructions and pole dwg sketch. Price is $85 includes USPS Priority Mail. PayPal only. Just need your PP login name and current shipping address. Upper brackets hold the poles and incorporate a tab with a large hole for the S hook of the ratchet straps.

I interested in your awning hold kit and I've made a set of out PVC piping but they're to bulky & heavy.

Let me know if your interested.
If you'll be at goshen for the rally I can get them there to avoid shipping costs.
They are ready to bolt onto oc's brackets less paint.
I guess I've never weighed them but I think there less bulky then pvc.

Well it looks like I've got ten sets of poles to make next week.
Some going to goshen some being shipped.
Next week when I ship the first set I'll give a heads up on shipping charges so we have an better idea.

I was in atleast 25 to 30 in a thunderstorm and my awnings held fine. Remember also it's how you stake them. I use the cork screw dog tie out type with 1" strap, some people just use stakes they might pull out when the ground gets wet.

It probably varies on size, brand, type of awning, and a myriad of other factors, but my 15' dometic has been out in 45 mile an hour winds (not on purpose  ) without a hitch. I wouldn't recommend it, however.
