OEM drop-down bike rack

Sabres, Columbus, and a few other offer a factory drop-down bike rack (that mounts to the frame/bumper mount). I think I'm finally ready to get one of these (ironically- not for bikes). If anyone on the east coast from PA to FL has one, let me know.

I could, but hoping to catch a deal. I'm in no rush and am wandering around the country like a drunken fool.

I want it for my generator project- but now it sounds like I'm not going to need it in October like I expected.

Here's the only picture I have of the genny setting on our old camper. I had a 48" aluminum tool box mounted next to it. Pulled it a lot of miles and they never moved.I did have to put some spacers on the bumper tube to keep the rack out straight. It did want to sag a little.Hope this helps you a little.

Thanks! I'm hoping to have a couple of generator boxes built that they can run in. I've kicked around going for sound deadening material in them and building a quiet box OR just opening flip-up sides to run them... I haven't decided how fancy I want to get. I've seen plans online for both.

And I'll want a space for carrying some fuel.

Ependy,
Not sure where you are going to be in PA but if you are anywhere near me (Somerset area) you are welcome to stay at my place a while. I've got 32 acres with several 30 amp hook-up spots but no sewer. (We also promote a bluegrass festival) We also have a nice small campground across the road from me with hook-ups and a dump station.

I'm in the process of building my own fold down bike rack/storage.
Maybe we could cobble something up for you as well.
Here's the brackets I drew up and cut out a week or so ago.
Haven't got back on the project but hope to soon.

I looked at these racks and for the life of me I can't see how the spare tire wont drag when going in & out of a lot of places when its down for cargo.

I agree. There's no way I'd put the spare on the bottom side. I drag places already.
