Thanks for the link- downside is they take a good chunk of the 30 amp shore power. Have been in use for a very long time

I'd say the bigger downside is you loose your anode rod and with a Surburban, no anode rod is death to the heater vessel.

Vince, a stock Suburban heating element is 1440 watts or 12 amps.

This aftermarket Camco one is only 425 watts according to the link. That is only around 3.5 amps. It won't use a lot of amps, but it probably takes awhile to heat the water at that low wattage.

Yes I understand, further down the link someone declares it's 625 watt.
Then I found a competitor declares must allow for a 15 amp circuit sole use, a bit over stated.

Never had one but being conservative:

"With the RV Hot Water Heater you can convert your gas unit into an electric one and save the propane for your barbecue. It converts any 6-gallon RV LP gas water heater to 120 volts of electricity on demand and has a stainless steel cartridge that heats the water to temperatures ranging from 90 to 150 degrees Fahrenheit. This water heater conversion kit includes an on/off power switch with a mounting bracket and a fully adjustable thermostat for both convenience and safety. A 15 A/120 V electrical service is required to use this water heater, which includes a kit with all necessary power cords and color-coded wire assemblies to make setup quick and easy. This 6 gal RV water heater's thermostat comes factory preset to 120 degrees Fahrenheit and might require adjustment, depending on your system.
Camco Hot Water Hybrid Heat, 6 gal:"
