Curt Slider 5th wheel hitch

I would like some feedback about the CURT Q16 5th Wheel Hitch with Roller #16521 . Does this hitch help any with jerking and bucking when towing? Does it slide easily to go from tow to manouver positions and visa-versa? Camper111.

I have a Q20 with the slide, no issues with the system. I only have jerking and bucking when slamming on my brakes when someone cuts in front of me.

I also have Q20. If you search the site, you'll find other reviews as well. The slide works fine...not baby butt smooth, but for as little as I use it (once in 5 years), it does fine. Bucking and bouncing...no. I got airbags on my truck to help that, and it helps, but does not eliminate it. It would take either an airbag hitch or kingpin to further reduce the bucking and bouncing. But I don't go often enough to warrant those yet. Otherwise, I love my Curt. Have had no issues with it. Except it is a heavy bugger.

Thanks for all the feedback. Getting the Curt 16521 installed this week. To pull a 2013 Wildcat bunkhouse Gross weight about 11600. Tow with 2013 F250 crew 6.7 diesel. Great towing power.

To answer your question, the roller works ok once you figure out how to get it unlocked and locked.

As far as the bucking and chucking, it does! Only way to eliminate it is a moryde or other type of cushioned king pin or air bag hitch. Like EdJunior I put airbags on and it helped but didn't eliminate the chucking.
