Maxx Air II: Redesigned vent covers
For those that love the Maxx Air Vent Covers, they have been redesigned. Check out the MaxxAir II
Twice as much vent area, and it's hinged for cleaning.
I'll be trying these out when spring thaw hits!

Hi All,
Just install the Maxxair II this Saturday at the camp ground. It was easy to install had no issues at all. The next morning got hit with a thunder storm and was able to see how great it worked. No water in the MH. There is a lot more vent area then the old maxxair.

I have 2 and ready to install. You can find a few YouTube videos online on how to install. Really easy.

John, are you putting one over the front bedroom vent? I was thinking of it....but thought it might stick out too much and look like a unicorn :P I lost that vent cover in a hail storm about a month back...so now im thinking about it again. I have 2 MaxxAir II's mid and rear, and they were not damaged.

I didn't find them as easy to get everything lined up (i.e., the brackets) as some seem to have experienced--and I'm pretty handy--but overall not a hard project. I found both a stubby screwdriver and an extra long one both useful during my installation. The mistake I made was screwing on the lock nuts to the hinge pins BEFORE starting the process. Once that had been done I was reluctant to take them off and that made screwing in the hinge side brackets a bit more difficult.
On the other side, I found that my electric drill chuck rubbed the caulk too much and wound up using the "armstrong" manual screwdriver once I got the screw started. Pilot holes are recommended but watch out for the caulk! If there's a next time I'll put a sheet of paper or thin plastic between the chuck and the caulk to keep it from digging in.
The picture below shows my installation over a Fantastic Fan unit. I have a regular MaxxAir on my front vent which seems fine except I plan to paint it black so the bedroom is not so bright during daylight hours.

You may be right. The front bedroom vent is far forward. Maybe I will wait on the front one and use the 2 for the living room and bathroom.
Thanks for your point of view.

You may want to install the Aero-Flo vent covers over the front vent. Makes for a sleeker look.

Thanks Mike!
You always have great suggestions.

Does anyone put these on motorhomes? Do you get wind noise from them when going down the highway.

I think you will like the II's a lot better - not just for the increased airflow but the hinged brackets make them a lot easier to clean.

Yes, the originals are unhinged and over the years stuff will sneak in and you will have to unbolt them to clean under them. They do have hinged mounting brackets available for the originals but why not just get the new ones?
