Vortex fan upgrade mod

Just happened to find this fan swap out on amazon.
What a big volume increase. And forward reverse.

Very happy and easy, price point 57.00

Made the switch to the Vortex in the bathroom.

The original fan was useless for moving air.....but made enough noise that everyone in the park knew you were in there.

We did the same with our Avenger (Vortex II)... Only problem is now that we have a REAL fan, it draws the shower curtain in while you're taking a shower, even on LOW. Our vent is right over the shower. On high, it will eventually draw the shower curtain 3/4 of the way up the wall if you leave it closed.

Moves MUCH MUCH more air than the little wanna-be fan.

I installed the Vortex 1 model.....one direction (outward) and one speed. There is a dial to open/close the vent lid. The only button on this model, is a small button you push to activate or stop the fan, located on the underside of the unit. You need to be able to reach the ceiling.

My wife is vertically challenged, so I ran a remote set of wires from this button down to a self mounted wall switch she can reach. But remember, for my model, it’s on or off.....no speed variation.

I changed out the little wannabe fan in our TT to a VortexII. We love it. The only thing that I recommend is that you turn off the fan when you flush the toilet. The Vortex will pull the air our of the black tank very quickly and your black tank vent gives a nice air flow.
Other than that, we love it.

Well my bathroom fan motor is failing once again. Dexter has replaced it twice now. I think I'm going to just suck it up and replace the whole fan vs. just replacing the motor again (since I'm getting 6 months out of them). I can't really fault the motor- we run that bathroom vent fan for many hours a day.

What brand have you been using?

Dexter (yes, the axle company) makes the fan. They've sent me the 2 motors. I'm not sure who makes the motors. I see a couple of options on Amazon for $10 or $40.

I’m not sure how loud your fan is.....we have a Vortex 1 in the bathroom..(can be installed without going on the roof)..used only on occasion.....like showering or when using it as a library

In the main area, we have a Fantastic Fan 7350. Top of the line with a remote, rain sensor, quiet....but you get what you pay for.

It's loud as it fails.. it starts to wobble! Though, the last couple of days- we've had to bump the fan to get it to start which means it's fixing to stop starting.

I like the idea of not going on the roof and disturbing the Dicor.

Another vote for Vortex ll. Put one on the trailer. Now I have one on the MH. Worth the money for a real fan, reverse and multiple speed.
