First TC experience

Went for a 1 night trip and took the Carin Tarrier.
He made it known he wasn't going again.
We have tent camped for years but now we upgraded to the truck camper.
Planning to pull a trailer with motorcycles.
Put a front hitch and cargo basket for odds and ends. Backed into our site which was down hill slightly, put rear legs down to level. Next time I plan to have leveling blocks and would have pulled in and put the front wheels on blocks to lower the rear exit. Our water and electric was 40' away, only 1 30 amp cord and 50' of 15 amp cord, didn't need a/c so that worked out. Learned to be more conservative with the gray water tank. Bathrooms were available so no solids in the toilet, and toilet paper went in the trash can. We'll see how that works out.
Took a small tabletop Solo stove and pellets, that worked good. Had a rechargeable bug light, it impressed me. Refrigerator worked good, wasn't sure what to expect, loaded frozen ice packs with the food, turned the fridge to auto and let the propane do the work (i assume 12 volts from the truck wasn't enough to run the fridge).
Dump station on the way out was down hill, next time I will turn the truck around and back through to empty the entire tanks. Pulled the T on the fresh water holding tank and dripped for a while while we rolled out.
Got walkie-talkies for backing communications, Wifey doesn't mind slow speed maneuvering when I guide. Works better for both of us.
Awnings were an issue, I am planning a post where I gather my thoughts on that.

Sounds like you learned a lot on your first tc experience. I always wondered if there were things you did differently with a tt.

Congratulations on your new rig!

We kept our first couple of trips close to home while we worked out the kinks. There is hardly a trip where we don't learn something new or pick up some good experience. Enjoy the journey!

Sounds like a good experience! I have always been a fan of the rocker wedges on my camping trailers and it was easy peasy leveling my new rig up today, torpedo level on my dash, guestimate moving one wedge back a little to lift one tire higher on off kilter ground. I just picked up my new to me truck camper a couple of days ago so I am still in the back yard. Neighbors probably think I am nuts, top going up and down, rig up, pull out from under, back under, rig down for travel, turn 90 degrees and do it again... Currently have it off setting low with sawhorse stabilizers. I just realized today too how cool it is with the top down. You can't dance but you can pretty much do everything else!

Sounds like you are enjoying it!
Do you get a full 4" of lift with the rocker wedges?
What brand did you get?

I think that mine are a generic version from amazon, https://www.amazon.com/Beech-Lane-Ca...1zcF9hdGY&th=1 . They seem pretty durable.

I got these probably 10 years ago, andersons were around $100 and these were about a third of that. Now they are about the same price with a lot of cheaper versions of that design out there. You can do a lot with a 16-20" piece of 2x8 and a couple of 4" blocks. I wouldn't spend too much on them, they are a pretty basic design.
