How Do You Close These Drain Valves?

Hello All,

Have a new to us truck camper ( Alpenlite ) . The previous owner drained the tanks prior to winter and we are now trying to fill tanks for a trip. Unfortunately, the drain valves seem to be "stuck" in the open position, and thus water simply drains back out. Not sure hoe to close these. It seems that perhaps a cap is missing? Tried turning the inner and outer pieces, but no luck.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

The cap is missing, go to any hardware store and purchase a quarter turn valve to replace it.

Everyone gets confused at some time, some are better at hiding it than others.

Thx. Does it have to be plastic?

My rig just has plastic threaded caps.

If you can't find them in plastic, check in the plumbing department where they have a good selection of brass fittings. Something should fit.

Originally bought plastic valves at Camping World but required me to cut a piece off to fit our connections. It leaked so purchased the right size in brass at Home Depot which works great. Just be careful of what direction is pointing if it has side discharge!!

Check in a drawer or in the WH outside compartment. Sometimes people store them there.
