Modifications to 1251

I am planning on buying a Palomino BackPack SS-1251 to use for an approx. month-long trip into Baja Ca. I have several questions on potential modifications I would like to make:
1. Is it possible to mount an awning to the side? Is there any how-to write-ups or vids? (It seems like you would need to drill completely through the sidewall to bolt it on)
2. Is it possible to mount a ladder to get to the roof? (Same fears as above about needing to drill through the wall to properly mount)
3. Anyone mount a simple rack on the roof to carry a kayak? (Can it support the weight?)
4. What do you guys do about grey water? (Carry a portable or?)

Thanks
Doug

Without a brand name, have no idea what a 1251 is.

Here is a YouTube video of this unit.

It may be possible to add an awning but I know I'd be too nervous to do it myself.

I doubt you can add a ladder. You would have to have some backing built into the walls by the manufacturer.

The unit in the video has a Thule rack on the roof.

For grey water, you'll need a portable tank. You could use a macerator pump to pump grey and black water into ta tank in the bed of the truck so you can haul it to a place to dump it.

Thanks.

Your answer is pretty much what I was thinking it would be :-)
I'll watch the video.
