Palomino 1609 pop up roof system

Hi All,
First post here... Looking at purchasing a 2019 Palomino 1609. I've been researching for hours on in, for the good and bad. Have one question that I'm not able to find an answer to. The 1600 series campers have the dreaded exterior mounted actuators to raise the roof, and sounds like they've had their issues with collecting water and crapping out.

The unit I'm looking at still has an electric roof raise and lower system, but does not have the 4 posts/actuators on the exterior. Apparently the system is on the inside of the truck. Were there 2 different systems the manufacturer use? (which is very unlikely) Any feedback on this system if it's a thing? Thx

We had these on our early year 2020 1604. These work well because they are away from water inside the camper unlike newer units made in the last 4 years. Water gets into the newer outside actuators and corrodes everything until something seizes and breaks.

Your unit has 4 posts (Actuators) raised by (4) 12 volt motors via a remote control. The power comes from the onboard 12 v battery.

OK. Awesome thx. That's kinda what I figured based on some more poking around. The exterior actuators are quite obvious on the newer models. It's starting to make sense. Thank you.

failed roof lift system

hello, I have a 2019 1240. just because the Rieco titan actuators are inside doesnt mean they are not going to fail. Mine have. If its the driver side rear, the cabinet has to be completely disassembled to access the actuator.
