Just received a recall notice for my SS1500 from Forrest River concerning the top latches and securement and tucking in the tent fabric of all things.
It appears that owners are not properly pre-loading the latches and failing to tuck in the tent material before latching the top. I see the new SS models come with a lanyard and clip to lock the latches (after you close and tension them). I used spring hitch clips available at TSC for 15 cents each.
The latches are adjustable via a screw that threads into the assembly. I keep mine almost all the way tight, all the time.....and...
If you turn on your Fantastic Fan when you lower the roof, it will suck in the tent really well and keep it tucked in....
I learned a few 'tricks' along the way.....
