Truck for a Palomino SS-1240?

Hello -

We at the point in our camper quest that we have decided to buy a new truck to carry a new pop-up camper. We are looking at a 3/4 ton 4x4 double cab (crew cab) Ford or Chevy.

For the Palomino SS-1240 a couple of questions:

1) Would it be better to buy a truck with a 6.6 foot bed or an 8 foot bed?
20 Are there any other dealer options that we should get on a new truck to haul a pop-up?

Thanks!

Spray in bed liner, 8 foot bed, frame mounted tie downs, heaviest tow package available.

6.5' bed, bed mat, and frame mounted tie downs. A short bed will allow you to use the outside storage on the bottom of the camper.

How does a short bed make difference?

An eight foot bed goes the length of the camper and uses the space behind the low outside doors.

Yes. Jeff needs to order the short bed package on the camper.
