110 outlet not working unless generator on.

Hello,

My outlets not working unless generator on in my Dyanmax REV 2018 RV 2015 chasis.

The GFI was yellow light on one outlet and I reset it so I got it to work again if the generator is on but now if I turn off generator. No outlet are working except for the on that the TV is plugged into .

I am wondering if Ii put too much power into w/ my electric space heater? I think that tripped the outlet when I turned it of.

Now the two outlets are not charging unless geneartor on.

Any suggestions?

Cool

I assume you are not plugged in to shore power. Your 110 volt outlets and devices are not going to work unless they are receiving voltage from either shore power or the generator. The TV outlet is apparently working because it is getting power from an inverter, which converts 12 volt DC power from the batteries to 110 volts AC, but the inverter is limited in how many devices it can power. They are usually used to power the refrigerator and one or two outlets.

Have you checked the breaker on the inverter?

I flipped all the breakers on and off. none of them were tripped.

I turned off the remote switch for the inverter and turned in back on a couple of time.

Have we narrowed down to the inverter?

My propane heater/water heater is tied into inverter? It seems to be working while generator on.

As I said earlier, the inverter is very likely only connected to one or two outlets, not every outlet. You need to test every outlet when only the inverter is on to determine which ones are energized by the inverter.

The furnace and the propane part of the water heater operate off the 12 volt DC system, and do not need power from the generator, the inverter, or shore power.

Are you plugged into shore power?

If so, check the power at the pedestal and if it's not that, it could be the transfer switch.

I am not plugged into shore power I have an inverter and I know 100 % that those outlet all work to charge my ipad on 110 outlet. I do have to turn on generator to use hairdryer but I should not have to turn on generator to charge a ipade or iphone. also UDB port is no longer working unless I turn on generator.

Is there a breaker button on the inverter itself as well?

There is usually a breaker and/or a gfci on the inverter itself.

The older inverters around that build period, at least the ones made by WFCO that FR was installing, had an 11 amp breaker on the inverter and would pop all the time on me. I have since upgraded inverter to newer model with 16 amp breaker.

I see the GFci on the outlet that is on the front of the inverter. It is not tripped. Is there another button that pops out on this inverter?

I just looked up manual for your Magnum. It does not appear to have it's own breaker like my WFCO.

Here is manual if you want to see what display means.

In reading the manual NJKris posted, it makes mention of being able to reset the inverter by cycling the power button.

Have you tried shutting it down and then back on?

I think the batteries and/or inverter are wearing out. I was able to get the outlets to work w/out. Generator for about 2 hours buy flipping the Outlet switches to reset.

Now I cannot get any power through outlets w/out generator.
Are the batteries too weak?
