Hello from Manitoba, Canada. We have a brand new trailer and need to start up the Furnace. When we started the furnace this morning, the heat started coming briefly and then the air conditioner started blowing cool air too. After a few minutes after that happened the smoke detector alarm was screaming. This has a Domestic furnace control that is digital and we have used the air conditioner for weeks already but never the furnace until now. The temperature in the trailer was down to 51.8 F this AM.
Any suggestions or experience on how to get this furnace working properly in our new trailer. We are connected to 30 Amp serviced site here. Thank you all who can help.

Welcome to the forum its a great place to get your questions answered. The smoke detector went off because all new furnaces have a thin coating of oil on the interior of the firebox to protect it prior to starting. After it runs for awhile that will be burned off and not cause the detector to alarm.

Additionally, set the fan speed to AUTO (not LO or HI) to keep the AC fan from also coming on when furnace is selected. Also; there is no fan speed adjustment for the furnace. If the fan speed is in AUTO there may be a thermostat issue.
