2018 puma satellite connection

Hi I have a 2018 puma 31RLQS. First of all I’m new at RVing this is our first camper. I bought it used. We went a head and got dish network the hopper for the living room and a Joey for the bedroom. Like everyone on the forum had issues connecting the satellite. My camper has three connections on the rear. One satellite connection one cable and one satellite living room. I turned off the booster. I connected the dish splitter on the rear the Joey to satellite connection and the hopper to living satellite on the rear of the camper. The Joey connected. The living room would not. After some investigation this is how I got everything to work. I connected the satellite dish straight to the white cable connection satellite connection. The gray cable from the rear I think goes to the antenna then splits to the bedroom booster and living room tv gray cable. The orange cable goes straight from the bedroom to living room tv. I put the splitter which is a special splitter for the dish system. in the bedroom white cable is satellite in. Small cable to bedroom connection for the Joey. then connected orange cable to hopper in living room tv. Everything worked great. Did not have to open up walls or run another cable. Look at the photos I took.
Connect the Joey to the wall behind the tv. Click image for larger version

You don't mention what antenna you're using.

Our TT has a factor king antenna mounted on the roof. Or were you referring to the Dish network satellite dish.

That's what I thought. The issues you have referenced on this forum is applicable to the carryout automatic seeking type antennas (dish) not the kind you are using. Like this:

Congratulations on your choice of the 31RLQS, we've had RV's and trailer for 40+ years and this has the best floor plan I have seen. We had a problem with the identical setup. It worked well from the bottom connection for a while then quit, so I made a new direct connection in the slide behind the TV. We fit a 39" TV for the living room and have a telescoping antenna mount attached to the ladder to which I can mount and unmount the antenna without a ladder and can also rotate. We've had very few problems with this TT.

Dish PLaymate

I should correct my reply, I thought you had the dish playmate. We have the Playmate system.

Thanks. We looked for months and at all the TT out there this was the only one with a large shower bathroom slide out so we would have a large closet and washer and dryer hookup. We will be living in it for about a year or so. Glad to hear we made a good choice.

Puma upgrades

We made some needed upgrades, the most important is tires. THe Chinese load D in too near weight capacity switched to Goodyear load range E. Tongue weight was 1340 with truck tank 1/3 full. Also installed a portable washing machine on top of a plastic container to drain into then using a boat bilge pump empty it into #2 gray water tank, total cost $150. Our total trailer axle weight was 8940 with mostly empty tanks but totally trip loaded. Hope this info is helpful and good trailering. Adam

I've got a friend with this same trailer and it's great. Puma also offers a bunkhouse model with the big bed slide up front that another friend has that's awesome.
