A/c cycling to much

I have a 2021 Braxton creek 27bh with a Dometic single lcd thermostat. When ac is set to let’s say 72 degrees the unit will continually run until inside temp is at 72 degrees. Unit will shut off for roughly 40 seconds and then kick back on for 40 seconds and will continually do this over and over again. It is set on automatic mode. I end up having to set the controller blower fan on low so we can get some sleep at night and don’t have to deal with it cycling constantly through the night. With the fan on low constant speed the ac will kick on and cycle but the ac portion will kick on roughly twice and hour. I am just curious if I am having a thermostat issue or if there is a way to reset the thermostat to try and resolve my issue before hauling it to the dealership.

Can you post a pic or the model number of the thermostat?

There is a initialize procedure for some Dometic thermostats.
Quote:
"System initialization.
Make sure the Single Zone LCD thermostat is in the Off condition.
Press the “+” button and, while holding it, also press and hold the On/Off Mode button for three seconds. LCD will show ― ― .
Press the On/Off Mode button again to turn system off.
This completes the initialization."

The up and down buttons are the + and - buttons in the initialize text.

Since Braxton Creek is not a Forest River product, who makes it? All I can find is a company that makes teardrop trailers:
https://www.braxtoncreek.com/models

They don't show any such trailer as yours.

Many members here have SOBs(Some Other Brand), which often share the same equipment. But I'm always interested in new RV manufacturers.

Braxton creek is the manufacturer and they are very new. I have had the same issues on there web site trying to find the model and floor plan. It's a travel trailer with a 2 year manufacturer warranty which is a reason we decided to give them a try. You will just have to look up the name and model and see what the options are on other websites that are selling them.

I suspect it is a thermostat issue.

I have heard of this happening if a roof vent or the AC is blowing right onto the thermostat. In one case, the owner turned a roof AC vent away from the thermostat and solved the issue.

Try taping an air deflector over the top or sides of the thermostat (be sure not to block it completely)

I would read your thermostat manual (or find it online) and see if you can adjust the range of temperatures that trigger AC on and off. If possible change the one degree (vs 2 degree) differential on the thermostat.

Here is an example:
To set the temperature differential the system must be Off. Press
the “―” button and, while holding it, also press and hold the On/Off
Mode button for three seconds. Release the On/Off Mode button.
Then release the “―” button. Press the “+” button to toggle between
“d1” and “d2”, “d1” for 1 degree F differential and “d2” for 2 degrees F differential.

I got a micro-air thermostat and solved the issue all together.

Yes, vent blowing directly on the thermostat was my immediate thought, too.
