AC not automatic

I tried to search for a similar problem but didn’t see it. We have a 2017 2109S Mini Lite. We’ve been camping the last 2 days and the AC was fine. Today it won’t turn on and off automatically. We can use the switch on the control box to turn it off or on, and cold air is coming out. Water drips outside as usual. Any ideas before we either freeze, bake or have to get up every few minutes tonight to turn it off or on?

I assume by your description that you don't have a thermostat and your controls are on the ADB (Air Distribution Box)? If so have you tried turning the breaker off and letting it sit a few minutes to see if it'll reset itself?

Can you post a pic of the controls?

Red face AC

Thanks Bama! That worked. Just FYI, here's a pic of the control box if I did it right. Click image for larger version

That's a cheap analog thermostat. Most of us replace it with a digital one.
There are numerous threads on this and numerous videos on the internet to do this easy mod.

It may be a cheap analog thermostat, but it does what it’s supposed to do. At least mine does, and has for the last five years.

What are the real benefits of a digital thermostat over this thermostat?

This has a 4 degree swing +/- from the temp you set. The digital one has a 1 degree delta +/- the setpoint.

Average person feels a 2 degree temp swing. If you set to 75 on cool it may be 79 before the analog one turns on but the digital will kick on at 76. I don't recall if this analog one has a mercury switch but if it does then trailer levling also becomes important for it to work properly.

The analog works but folks feel it. If you don't you saved $35 by not needing to swap! My wife feels it and complains incessantly...happy wife happy life.

why not just easily turn it to ON with the LOW fan setting, and set the Temperature to your liking - the compressor will always turn off when it is at temperature, but the fan will continue to run on LOW all the time, rather that cutting on and off, which I personally don't like.

Thank you. I know there are a million threads on here about swapping out thermostats that I could search for, but since the one I have is the one pictured above and you seem to be familiar with it and the digital conversion, I will just ask here: which would be the best digital thermostat to replace it with? I have the Coleman Mach 15, cooling-only unit.
