We had the same urine smell after about two years with our stock Dometic 300 in our 2018 FR3 30DS. (THANK YOU folks for reasuring us we are not crazy about this horrible smell) I was able to call Dometic and get a replacement but upgraded to a 320 for $100. Totally worth it!
I was going to buy a new 320 on Amazon for $300 after reading the problems other are having but Dometic honored the warranty without any questions! The representative stated that a seal falls down inside the toilet base causing the waste to build up and cause an odor. He also stated that the newer designs have a seal catch of some kind that prevent that problem from occurring. Also he really emphasized that there is not a recall but a product warranty.
Also, he sent us a replacement fantastic fan motor because our new install was squeaking and seems to be a common issue with them.
Overall, I was very pleased with my 20 minute call with Dometic. They need the purchase date of your rv, a model number and serial number of the toilet. The label is on the right side of the base, facing the toilet.
Tip on replacing the toilet... Keep it level when pulling it out of the RV because the waste will pour out the back if you don't.
