Arctic package on Sandstorm, questions
Looking to purchase a Sandstorm T250SLC toyhauler soon for 4 season camping. I know its not the best, but having wintered in a Keystone 5th wheel before, I know how to get by. I've looked at 250SLC units without the Arctic package, and considering closing on an arctic package version a few hours away, before seeing it. Can anyone tell me if there is ducted heat down into the sealed underbelly, with the arctic package? I'd assume there is, but there is no specific mention on FR's website. The website does say the tanks have heat pads, and they are insulated. I'm more concerned about the water pipes that run under the unit, that is where freezing usually occurs first. Only ducted heat would help for those pipes.
Also, anyone know if the tankless water heater option would be a fatal flaw in winter camping? I didn't have a problem with the 6 gallon water heater in Keystone, since I could drip the water a little bit over night, to keep the water feed pipes from freezing, even without sending furnace heat into the heated underbelly (was hooked up to electric heat via shore power). I installed an accumulator so the water pump wouldn't run constantly. All I needed was less than a gallon of water overnight, and I'd recover that and put it back into the tank the next day. I haven't seen the tankless water heater option installed in a unit yet, and I'm concerned it is too exposed to the outside, and could freeze more easily than a 6 gallon water heater.
Thanks in advance!
