Audio and video issues with Jensen ent system

We use our tv/entertainment system very little but recently decided to add a Roku stick to stream some movies and news.
I thought I had the system working at home.
We are 1st stop of our 75 day trip and all settled in for anything on the screen. Tried the Roku and Got great video but no audio. No matter what I tried. I tried every setting no matter how stupid it was. No audio. I get a picture but no audio on regular OTA TV or Roku.
Last resort. I put in a DVD. Got Audio but no picture.
Took out the roku. No effect.
Only thing I can think of before trashing all of the Jensen stuff is a bad hdmi cable.
Any helpful thoughts?

Tv & roku audio Would come through the tv right? The dvd would play through the Jensen spkrs I am thinking.

That said it has to be the tv’s audio settings, mute button, or something plugged into the tv’s headphone jack ( if it has one).

Regarding the no DVD video...I had a bad cable from the factory. I assume you verified the source selection on the tv matches the cable coming from the Jensen Ie, (hdmi 1, etc)

Thanks for your input. No audio from either device until I put a DVD in. It played audio only. No video.
I am going to try replacing the HDMI cable from DVD to TV. If that doesn't solve the issue then it has to be the TV or DVD player.
I had it all debugged before we left home and it all worked. Played a DVD no problem. OTA TV no problem. ROKU worked as well. All had audio and video.
