Bent stabilizer leg

Hello. I badly bent the stabilizer leg on my 5th wheel. I think I can get someone to straighten it if I can get it off. Do you know of any instructions or videos on how I can do this? It's a PSx1, model LCI 337199.

Better off replacing it. Even if you get it bent back it will always be weak.

Thanks for the reply.
1. How do I find a part number for the replacement part? I've googled everything I can imagine and can't find it.
2. How do I get the old one off? A link to written instructions or a video would be great - can't find that either. That's why I'm here.

The assembly is listed here:

https://store.lci1.com/high-speed-po...ch-337199.html

...however "not all parts are available for individual sale". The parts component list does not show a part number for just the leg.

As Greywater said above, you can't buy just the arm from the factory, but you may be able to get it a an RV salvage yard.

You also may be able to get the bent one fixed by straightening it and having some stiffeners added to it. It'll be easier to pull the whole assembly and fix it while assembled than to try to take an arm off.

If you do want to remove that arm, you have to disconnect the lead screw in the middle and remove the holding plate at the end. You may even have to remove the motor if the bent arm is on that side. The trick then is to 'sync' both sides when you put it back together.

Here's a link to the service manual for them. Lippert Electric Rear Stabilizer Jack Service Manual

I think an experienced welder / fabricator could repair that. It might be an option to consider.

It might be better if you sent the OP a PM since they haven't posted in over a year. And they only posted 2 times.

(I know this comment is over a year old- just adding it since the thread was resurrected so that people coming later can see that there's a better way.)

This is the way to do it. There used to be an active member here that would take busted up electric stabilizers and would replace the legs with better material. He said he could nearly lift his fifth wheel with them.

I donated a set and was amazed at what he built for another member.

I enjoy the convenience of the elec. stabilizers but they are definitely less than robust. Just curious if anyone has jus said "heck with it, I'm putting scissor jacks on"?

My camper and poor driving decision did that for me.

Ripped off my electric stabilizers and smashed them to smithereens. I donated them to Old Coot and Bob Caldwell here on FRF.

I replaced them with scissor jacks after seeing the $500 price tag for replacement electric stabilizers. A power drill made short work of putting the down and up. I'd even let my kid get in on it.

I can't say they were any more stable than the electric ones. Still needed the SteadyFast bars to shore everything up.

Thanks Ependydad - I appreciate your feedback!
