Best Inverter generator for 30 amp service

I've been eyeing this one. my dealer sales almost the exact same model, but 3300 starting and 3000 running but it is almost 300 more there.

Sorry to say you are wrong , I have a split system at my home no heat strips, it will produce over 100 degree heat at 5 degrees amb air. There are only 2 company's now producing this LG and Mitsubishi, not carrier or Trane, nobody period meaning USA made. Have done HVAC my whole life retired from it after 25 years if they can make a split system they should be able to make a roof top for RV' S.

Champion 3500W (3200 W) with remote start for $1K is my choice. I like the idea of being in my trailer and just clicking a button to get juice. I've researched this a ton over the past 3 years, for some reason. I'm not even sure I want a generator. But this is #1 on the list.

Also, they claim it will heat to Zero, I measured at 5 degrees amb. Air that was being produced was 117 degree heat, NO HEAT STRIPS. Just pure heat pump. Why can't a roof top unit do That? The question of the day, not to high jack this thread.

Don't know where you got this info but ALL of Champion's generators are made in China.

The big difference is that Champion is an American company and the generators are made to their specifications.

Keep in mind all these generators are rated on a power factor 1 which is resistive load, motors are inductive load which takes more power. Also starting load must be considered, most generators have enough surge power for that. I put a delay relay in my A/C so the fan doesn’t start right away, that can help. Second they are usually rated at sea level, for every 1000’ you go up you lose 3% of the engines power capability.
Someone mentioned rooftop RV A/C units that are inverter driven, there is a Chinese company that advertises them, but they have never responded to my emails. Some makers are using R410, but conventional motor.

I got a smokin' deal on a very slightly used Yamaha YG 6600 electric start generator and found a "before the carb" propane conversion unit for it. (There are times it is good to live in hurrycain country) I scored a 30 gallon "motor home" propane tank to mount on the TV.
My little 5er rig (26 foot) will now tank 45 gallons of propane and 128 gallons of diesel .

(I can drive till I'm butt hurt and boondock till I'm sick of the view, next up, solar panels and a good controller)

Keep lookin', good deals do still exist...If you have mechanical skills, you can "fix 'N flip" your way to a pretty awesome setup.

We bought a 3500W Workhorse from Northern Tool on sale for $1000 and I've discovered it's the same generator that 5picker is showing you from Harbor Freight. We used it at 2 WalMart parking lots on a recent trip to New Orleans and that thing ran for 15 hours straight on 2.1 gal of gas! That's crazy! Also it was quiet. 2 year warranty.

Also, I just read that this is a clone of the Honda 2000, they said even the engine parts are interchangeable with both models, this was made for the harbour freight lines. Also Amazon has it listed for 669.00, that is were the review came from. All I can say is we will see....🤙[emoji196]

When you get too old to lift 100# into the back of your truck just get one of these:

They install in a rear corner of your pickup bed and when down, with boom retracted, they tuck in over the wheel well.

The brackets they come with are more than enough to use the crane with when lifting 100# or so. For heavier loads, up to it's max, I'd recommend adding a larger base plate and even some bracing to the frame.

When I was younger I could lift my old 4000/3500 W Champion with no problem. A couple of birthdays later along with heart surgery and I don't play that game anymore.

Yes, that would work well if you had a tag along trailer, maybe not with a 5th wheel. Had one kinda like that , that was mounted on the back rail of my sailboat to pick up the engine off my dingy. Used it for 5 years , great back saver if you have the room.

Hey WD, I had one before they offered the paralell kit and they used 10w30 oil. I had to return mine because the overload wouldn't reset. they gave me a hard time returning it because I didn't buy the warranty that they offered at purchase. So I would check with them about the warranty when you pick them up. I hope this helps.

Thank you my friend, I will check, how long is the warranty? I bought two they are coming Thursday. I have been thinking to use regular oil for the break in and then change it to Syn. Oil, I hope this all works out, to me it is a big expense, so I'm being cautious being I'm not a wrench Turner by any means. Thanks for your input, just love this forum.[emoji16][emoji196]

Yep, HF is very good about replacing things. While some items are very good quality, you get tired of continuously running back to replace others. Will be interesting to see which category their generators fall into

Well, got my 2 - 2000 predators , got them both up and running, I will not get the pairing kit until Monday. So far they are really quite running on eco. a little loud on full, much heavier then I thought but start on 1 pull. Only a 1 gal tank internal I filled them both up 1/2 will see how long they last without a load. Very nice unit, one thing the specs call for 10/40 oil but they tell you for normal operation use 10/30 , so i put in 10/30, confusing there. Also they say a 90 day warranty but HF says 2 year. Will get back to this thread Tuesday after I power up the 5er. ....

Sounds good so far I will be waiting to hear how it goes. Also while I was doing some research I found an extended run gas kit.
