Bigfoot leveling not so level.

We have a 2014 3170ds and it seems that every time we use the Bigfoot system it's always leaning a tad to the right or left. I press "auto" when using the system.

Anyone have any input or suggestions?

Looks like it needs to be calibrated. Looks like the left and right lights are on? I thought someone posted the instructions a while back. Have you searched for the manual?


I get better results by leveling using the manual mode. For me the auto mode just raises the coach higher than it needs to.

Yes Left & Right lights are on.

No I did not read the manual. I should have before posting this but I assumed that it would just work correctly I will dig threw the manual books and read up

And yes its sky high, I agree with that as well. Never used the manual mode.

Manual really doesn't say much about calibrating the unit or what to do if it's leaning from side to side.

Looks like page 17... Did the system ever work properly? I don't believe the Right and Left lights should be on with the center "Level" light. Seems like the system timed out and quit before it was finished. I'd find a fairly level spot and try it again. If it still messes up, try page 17.

Will do. So if I read page 17 correctly it essentially says to go into program mode and manually level the unit. Then store that ?

Soooo. Attempted to manually level to reset auto mode. Back left foot doesn't seem to be working correctly. Gets down and pushing up the rear maybe a few inches then starts to squill and won't go any further. Right rear will jack up as far as I want without any problems. Any thoughts ?

On my driveway which has a very slight and I mean slight incline.

No it's not fully extended. The right side will go higher than the left.

Would have to measure the exposed ram and see what the max extension.

My guess is that they are close to the max. And that why the one isn't able to go down.

Other thing it have to be a different length cyclinder. Should be to look at it and see if not check the part numbers on the two. It's always possible in human error.

My parents had an auto level on their rig that never worked and it ended up being the left and right wiring was reversed. Lucky for them it was found under warranty.

For anbservation, your picture of the level is on a counter, you should be leveling to the bottom of the freezer. Now, I have found a location on my counter that mimics the freezer for ease.

But, the squeal sounds like an issue with hydraulics.
