Burr Handy Lift Installation

After a couple of months in my new MH it became apparent to me that I needed to get some help for my mobility impaired DW. I invested in a Burr RV Handy Lift and it gets delivered this week:

Burr Mobile Wheelchair & Scooter Lift Burr Handy Lift

I have it all scoped out and plan on doing the installation myself. I am interested in anyone who has experience using or installing one of these lifts. (or if anyone is interested in how I do!!)

Thanks,

Burr Handy Lift Installation

No experience, but I am interested in your efforts. Never know when it may be helpful in the future.
Hope it makes access easier for DW and you.

No. I'll take a couple in the morning. It doesn't protrude any more than my mirrors.

It has 5 inch bolts that go through the mounting plate on the outside to a similar mounting plate on the inside. You want as much separation as you can between the two mounts, but mine had to be under the kitchen cabinet because of that window. 24" is plenty of separation according to the manufacture. Since I was under the cabinet I added 2 X 10 hardwood under there (as much surface area as I could) to beef up the outer wall to handle the load. I also tied in the cabinet frame and the floor which brought in some vertical framework from the MH outer wall into the structure.
