Cadet Wall Heater

Good evening all. On our soon arriving Cedar Creek we opted to have a Cadet Wall Heater installed in the main bedroom as a way to conserve propane when on shore power. I happened to just stumble upon some information saying at one point they had a massive recall and people don’t trust them. Safety being #1 to me I’m wondering what others experiences are with them and if I wasted my money.

When I googled Cadet Wall Heater recall, the latest recall I found was from 2002. Unless you find something recent, I wouldn't worry about it.

We have a Cadet wall heater in a 2017 5th wheel.I works really, really well. Money well spent.

Please post what you find out about any possible safety/reliability issues.

Seems they had a problem 20 years ago with burning houses down where these were used as zoned climate homes as in no central system. People died and homes were lost, seems recent posts of people that are against them had something personal to them happen that they don’t like cadet which I understand. Main concern seems to be if you’re buying a used home it may have one of these recall units in it still. I couldn’t find any recent info, we use the furnace at night, and plan to use this and the fireplace during the day to keep it warm while we’re up. For now, I remain excited to save some propane
