Carrier A/C units....discontinued?

Word is the Carrier (a big name in air conditioning) no longer makes A/C units for the RV industry.

Does anyone else have Carrier units on their rig that uses wireless remotes to control the A/C unit, AND in my case, the furnace unit. If and when these units die, that means there is no wiring inside the walls to communicate with either the A/C or furnace.

Anyone else make wireless units for RV's as a replacement if needed?

Carrier hasn't made A/C units for RV's for over 4 - 5 years. If you call Carrier and ask for any assistance for RV units previously sold ... all you hear is crickets chirping. They just state Carrier no longer is in the RV A/C business. You may run across a mobile RV tech with some holdout parts, but that would be pretty unlikely. As for the A/C ... you may just have to settle for a unit that has the controls on the ceiling air difuser ... I'd imagine your furnace is an Atwood or Suburban just guessing.

Unless the control system fails which is pretty rare, both rvp and dometic make kits to use their upper. You use the old control and lower plastic with the new unit, a conversion harness, and a retrofit bracket. The rvp Coleman seems to be a better retrofit than the dometic. Don't lose the remote!!!

I wouldn't give that company a dime anyways. They laid off 1400 people in Indiana and moved the jobs to Mexico.
