CO Alarm (changed from Co2)

Co2 Alarm keeps going off? No gas on in Camper. How do you reset the alarm? It is wired in so there isn’t a battery.

those CO2 alarms have a shelf life... every 5 years or so they have to be replaced...

they are powered by a 12V wired connection to trailer battery... disconnect the wire from the rear if you think yours is faulty...

I'm beginning to sound like a broken record....... again.....

Please check your trailer battery. When the battery is low, the alarm goes off intermittently. Happened on our tt and our miniMH.

We just had a lengthy discussion with someone and they eventually found they had a low battery.

Now it could be that the alarm is bad, but I'm cheap and try the low tech solution first.

It's not CO2, it's a CO(carbon MONOXIDE) detector.
Is this a new trailer and have you run the furnace?

CO2 is carbon dioxide and CO is carbon monoxide. The detectors are actually monitoring CO levels. Stove, heater, hot water heater exhaust leaking into enclosed space. They do get weak or malfunction. Certain chemicals or sprays can set them off.

If your CO detector is wired to a shutoff solenoid, located right after the pressure regulator, you can't get propane to the rig unless the detector is working properly. This is a safety feature that shuts off the propane whenever the detector goes into its alarm state. An expired detector should also turn off the propane.

I've had two solenoids fail in my 2011 Georgetown since we purchased it in July 2011.
