Condensation around AC vents

Is this normal? Using the AC really for the first time. Had it ruining all day, but we did have the front door open. Unit was cooling fine but I saw lots of condensation.Attachment 229769Click image for larger version

Yes ,Its going to sweat especially if it's that humid and the door was open, you can open those slide vents on the main unit to get more air flow and help it cool quicker.

Condensation around AC vents

Not sure if you have room for it or not but we ended up buying a small dehumidifier. Man does it make a world of difference! No more sweaty AC vents and also keeps general condensation down in the trailer. Also makes it feel way more comfortable on a humid day. We got ours at Walmart for around $100. Well worth it in my wife’s opinion!

When I see condensation on the A/C itself it tells me I need to clean that foam air filter on the intake side. After cleaning the water goes away until the next time I wait too long.

Never seen one that bad before.

Don't understand why you had the AC running and the door open. A good part of the cooling done by AC is to remove moisture. Leaving the door open defeats that.

What he said. That a/c is trying to remove the humidity and having the front door open in humid weather defeats the purpose. In fact, that's probably why the condensation is so bad. Paper towels are recommended if you're going to do that.

I think that I would buy a portable air conditioner rather than a dehumidifier. Air conditioners and dehumidifiers are basically the same thing With the only difference being the ducting is different. Both remove the humidity and in the case of the portable air conditioner you change it into a dehumidifier by not venting to the outside. No?

In all the days we've camped we only had the AC condensation issue once. It was humid and the Grandkids were in and out of the camper. It freaked me out, thought I had a leak somewhere.
Wiped it up, cleaned the filters (like I always do), opened the vents wide, and have never had the problem again.

Ok, thanks everyone. I figured it was because of the open door. I just like the fresh air. I checked the filters, they are good. Will keep the doors closed now.

you will have the same problem with the door closed, I have to wipe my R/A grill daily with the door closed, there is nothing wrong at all.

Condensation From A/C Vent

Today, I went to our Class A and started the engine and the generator. Turned on both rooftop A/C units to put a load on the generator and ran them for 30 minutes. It was raining outside and I had the door and all windows closed. When I turned the A/C units off and turned off the generator, I noticed water dripping from the A/C vent over the drivers seat.

Any thoughts?

Depends on how much water. If it was a stream like you'd get from the roof when you run the a/c, then you've possibly got a disconnected line. If it's condensation, then I'd blame the humidity in the coach condensing on the vents.
