corner cap replacement

I've searched the forum and can't find this so sorry if this is a repeat.

I have a FR Surveyor 294. I clipped a fence post with the back corner. It pulled the "corner-cap-trim" (I don't know what else to call it) away. The damaged section is about 6 inches in length up and down and pulled about an inch away off the corner.

I noticed that there are screws underneath the trim. I don't get how the screws were placed there because the corner-cap-trim covers the screws.

Has anyone else had to replace a piece like this before?

to the Forums. If possible could you post a picture of the damaged area? It may help someone here to understand the issue and offer assistance.

oops, good idea - here's a photo of the problem

I went out to take a picture and think I know what to do now. But I'd like to post the before and after photos in the hopes this can help someone in the future. I have found these forums most helpful.

I measured and bought a piece of replacement trim. There is a strip of putty on the inside and a vinyl seal on the outside of the trim.

So next I'll cut away the damaged trim. Cut the new trim to size. the trim has pre-drilled holes. The putty comes in "tape" form. So you lay the putty on the inside of the trim. Re-align the new trim and screw it to the camper. And then replace the vinyl outer seal.
