Costar Carbon Monoxide Alarm

Afternoon Friends,
I have a problem with my Costar Carbon Monoxide Alarm Model 9V RV. I have replaced the batteries with fresh alkaline batteries and it still goes off.
I can't find these things anywhere. I think the company is out o business.
Does anyone know of an adequate replacement that i may use that does not require making new holes in the "soft-touch" ceiling?

Many thank in advance!

Here's a popular brand that is "RV Approved".

Most of these units use a hole pattern designed to match a standard wall outlet box so it's doubtful any added holes will be necessary. Some even have a "clover leaf" hole pattern on their back that allows for several different screw placements. I've found it easy to just use the existing screws although I have from time to time had to adjust the screw depth in the ceiling to make the detector fit snugly and not fall off on a rough road.

Just curious, does it mater if a CO detector is "RV rated"?
