Detector went off, rubbing alcohol smell and liquid by detector at bottom of steps?

Unable to find source of "Rubbing Alcohol Smell" and liquid. No spilled bottles of rubbing alcohol. It's in an area unaccessible under the steps going upstairs into the 5th.

I'm thinking the Refrigerator has a problem. Now monitoring temperatures.

Any one else have this happen?

Hello 'The Pope'.

What 'smell' would cause a detector to go off? Usually propane. Which detector went off? Are your tanks near where the smell is coming from? One tank may have switched over to the other. Can you give us more details about your rig, what is it called and what year is it. A member may have one like yours and know what is going on. Did the smell go away and is the detector shut off? It may be a small thing where the valve switches from one tank to another or if the is a steady leak, you may have something that you need to look at right now after you have shut your propane off. Is your furnace running and coming from the venting?

If it's near the refrigerator, that would be my guess. The alcohol smell could be ammonia and would explain the liquid.

X2, and you may have a leak from the fridge, which isn't a good thing. Here is an explanation on how RV absorption refrigerators work (with the ammonia):

The RV Doctor: RV Absorption Refrigeration Basics

P.S. I've had my detector go off when ant spray fumes got near it.

Some cleaners and Lysol will make a CO detector go off.

Use of personal care products such as hair spray, fingernail polish remover, etc. Heavy fumes in the air can trigger some of them. Why women use this stuff in the kitchen/living room instead of bathroom is beyond me. But I don't get the applying makeup while driving and steering with your knees trick either. Don't get me started on texting while driving.

If you had a leak in the refer, your ammonia would be gone all ready. I had furniture polish set mine off. You would also smell propane if that was causing it. It can also be anything that Sabersam said and AquaMan.
