Dometic model 300 stinker

A lot of posts on here are on the older side so I figured Iíd share this. 4 days after returning from our last camping trip I went out to pack for the upcoming Memorial Day weekend trip we have planned. My camper had a horrific urine smell and I started researching (it was not septic or holding tank, that smelled like fabric softener from proper care) Two days later I came across multiple forums on the subject on this site, thank god as I am leaving in two days! I realized quickly that my 2019 Cherokee grey wolf was equipped with this stinker (literally)! I sent Dometic a msg through their website but do not have the time to wait for a response or a replacement (if one would even be offered) as the smell runs you out of the camper. I purchased the upgrade and only true solution for the problem. It took about 15 minutes. Attached you will see the nastiness that is getting trapped in the walls of these toilets. Upgrade before you have to! Dometic model 300 issue is still after all these years not fixed!

After all these years of failures with the 300 you would think Dometic would learn. But then again, corporate minds don't work well with a little common sense.

Urine smell with Dometic 300

After a week of not understand where this nasty smell of urine was coming from I finally decided to stick my hand behind the toilet in the opening and discovered the most disgusting thing ever. A puddle of water and urine. I almost threw up. I contacted Dometic because itís apparently a very well known issue. They said they added a new component in September of 2019. I bought this camper on October 7th, 2019. Just my luck. So instead of upgrading for $75 to the ceramic model with a wooden seat I decided to get a free replacement since the issue has been fixed according to Dometic. I honestly feel like itís just a way to make a dollar for them so when people have this issue they will automatically just upgrade with I think is a load of crap because we havenít even had this camper for a year yet and the toilet is already disgusting bc of a leak caused during the installation. If this new replacement starts having the same issue I wonít be paying for the upgrade. They better replace it for free considering this has been a known issue for years on end. Ridiculous.
