Door step

My electric door step has stopped working. I pulled the motor and it’s pretty tired but I don’t see a problem. The solenoid is switching because I can hear it though I haven’t checked for voltage. I thought it might be good to replace it. Anyone know where I can get the right angle screw drive that operates the step?

Would help to know year, make and model of your RV. If you can also the make and model of the electric step.

The Forest River group of companies uses a lot of Lippert parts and Lippert has an online "university" that offers free training webinars on a lot of their systems. I have taken all that apply to my Windjammer 3008W and keep looking at the site because they add modules quite often.

CLICK HERE to go to the web site for Lippert Technical Institute - there is a LOT of good information there.

That would explain the screen name. I have never heard of a Lexington coach. Thanks.

Door step reply

So I found the exact replacement on Amazon! It says it’s Lippert. Hopefully, this will fix it. I’m amazed it worked as long as it did since that whole system is just hung underneath the Motorhome. After a short trip on a muddy dirt road in Missouri a few years ago I didn’t think it would work again.

If the new motor doesn't solve the problem then replace the controll module. They call it the step computer sometimes. They do corrode and the old ones werent sealed all that well. It's easier than the motor just attach the wires from old to new one at a time to avoid any confusion. Also available on Amazon

Thanks Everyone!

Thanks everyone for the fast response. I got surprised on this one. Didn’t realize I had a problem. I’m sure we’re going to be fine. Thanks again!
