I have been camping for many years and never saw one of those before. I use a bungy cord most of the time or lean a rock on the outlet as well. This looks like the trick but like you said a little pricey.

Thought I would add the link for anyone interested.

Interesting. I just looked at their website (https://dumpbuddy.com/). It looks like someone built a better "rock" secure your sewer pipe adapter to the sewer pipe.

I dunno. I feel like a rock or boot sole over the edge is just as good.

Waste of money IMO. I screw the spout in on threaded pipes and use a rock or board on those not threaded.

Owning something with the poop-emoji "D" logo on it might be worth the $40 to some folks.

Same here.

Only place I run into unthreaded dump piping is at State Rest Area dump stations and there this device is worthless.

We need to start camping where you camp.
We have yet to see a threaded dump pipe. To be fair, most of our trips have been to State Parks, and prior to this year we were tent campers so dump pipes weren't necessarily something we paid too much attention to.

Exclamation

At least 80% of the campgrounds we stay at have threaded fittings on the sewer pipe. For those that don't, we lay one of these water bags over the 90° hose drain fitting.

It's not a bad idea. Sometimes rocks aren't available and the dump connection is difficult to secure due to terrain or damaged connection.
I do like the fact that it's plastic and easy to clean.
It would make it easier to walk away and do other departure activities. It might also make dumping a full tank of black and grey water a bit more secure than standing on the thing to make certain it's secure when opening the valve. That usually requires two people.

Haven't used it, but I'm going to have to think about purchasing one.

We have used a "Sewer Pig" for going on ten years of full time rving . It does what it is designed to do and you can empty the water out of it when breaking down to rinse the sewer hose out. $25 to $30 dollars most places. We have been in sites where people have screwed the hose into the drop and then can't un-screw it when its time to go.

If you like the idea and are handy, I would bet you could make your own. Get a couple of dryer vent clamps...
https://www.amazon.com/ISPINNER-Stai...s%2C136&sr=8-5

Cut one in half and rivet to the other. I think if you were creative you could make one for under 10 bucks.

For those who are presented with an unthreaded pipe Camco offers this device that not only will hold the sewer pipe in place, but meet the requirement most Campgrounds now have for an air-tight connection with the sewer.

Only $7
