Electric stabilizer jack not working

Hello - This is my first post. Purchased Wildwood x-lite 254RLXL few months ago and after a few trips the front electric jack will only go up. When try to go down there is no sound. The manual crank works fine so nothing is binding. Both switch and remote does same thing. I can take it to the dealer and get it fixed but wondering if this could be a re-occurring problem with this 2017 model? Could I have caused the failure?

thanks

It's odd that the local switch and remote do the same thing.

If it works at all then the fuses are good.

Both the switch and remote reverse power to the motor to get it to raise or lower so it points to the motor being good.

Have you checked the wires on the back of the switch for loose connections?

I played with wires and motor and does not act like intermentant. Something must have happened inside the motor? Because of year warranty I will wait awhile before taking into dealer for fix. Closest dealer a few hours away.

Thanks for the reply.

Does the motor have two wires or three wires going into it?

Wires are well insulated so can not tell.

I believe a few folks have had the control board act up. Disconnect your battery for a few minutes and try it again.

if motor works in 1 direction the problem must be the switch-the switch changes polarity which reverses the direction of travel

It almost sounds like the remote and local switch are wired to the same relays and that's where the problem is.

Somewhere you will have a switch that fundamentally reverses the wires to the motor while supplying power. Since you have a remote this will NOT be the manual operation switch on the side of the RV (most of us do not have remotes and thus this switch provides the power and switching). Your setup may have relays... or it may be completely electronic. You would have to start tracing out wires and taking things apart to figure it out. Once you find it then it is a matter of figuring out the circuitry and probing to determine ultimate cause.

X2. The relay is located on the LCI control board.
