Electric Step mounting frame broken

Our steps (3 step electric Kwikee) have been loose.
Today I climbed under to tighten up a bolt that was loose. After all bolts were tightened up I noticed that things were still "bad".
I climbed under again and started to poke around. I felt that the mounting frame was bent. I managed to get my phone to get some photos.

Mounting bracket is broken at the left forward mounting point. It looks like there the mounting hole is bigger that it needs to be and the slim metal left broke off, leaving this corner with no support. It also looks like it has separated from the rest of the mounting bracket.

Is this an potential recall issue?

Any thoughts one how to fix this? I am not handy with a welder.

In or out of warrenty? If out, know someone that welds? Pull them out and get it fixed. That's what I would do.

Well out of warranty, 2015 unit.

I have decided to add some angle iron to what is left.

Some pics. Not too much meat where the bolts go.
