Entry door won't close.
We just purchased a grey wolf 22rr a month ago. When we got it home and went to put some supplies inside, the entry door won't close. It's hitting the door frame. Upon closer inspection it seems that the door frame was installed incorrectly please help

Try lubricating the latching mechanism and latch plate with some silicone or silicone grease. Obviously the door closed when you bought the unit.

Is the door not closing with the stabilizers down? Maybe, the frame is being twisted a little.

door
We Have a FR3 and when the door is left open and sun beating on it it will not shut because latch hits . have to hold door latch when closing . once it cools down no problem .

If I would have tried the door on the lot I'm pretty sure it wouldn't have shut either but being my first time buying an RV I was too busy looking at all the other features of the RV to try the door which I assumed would have shut

So you towed it home with the door open and didn't know it?

I'm not saying that they don't. All I'm saying is my doors got a problem with closing. It's not the striker plate it is the door itself contacting the jam at the top left-hand Corner before the rest of the door even comes close. As I said before I am a first-time RV owner but I am also a carpenter so I use an 8 ft and a 4ft level when I set the trailer up. I'm not sure what the tolerance is our as far as leveling and putting torsion the frame I might be at fault here.

Did you by chance lift the frame with the stabilizers?

Nope, contacted the pads and stopped with the stabilization jacks, used fence pickets under the wheels for elevation side to side.

Entry door won't close.
Before I would do any door adjustments I'd hook it up and drive it around the block.

Check the door shocks if you have them. I started noticing the door on my sunseeker having more and more difficulty closing and then sticking when I tried to open it. Finally the other day the shock came loose and looks like it had somehow 'unscrewed' itself. Once I popped the fitting on one side and screwed everything back together the door worked fine again. My guess is the shock coming loose must have been torquing the door enough to mess with the fit.
good luck!

My initial thought was the door was overlapping the frame at the top. Starting to think now that the top closes and the bottom is not.

Also, check the hinges, to make sure they aren't loose and to make sure none of the screws are coming out. If any of them are impacting the door, it will effect how it closes.

X-2 on my Solera. I've had several people work on my door in the past, including removing the frame and putting it back together. The door locks got worse. Last week I was visiting my brother who is extremely handy. He took a look at it, used my hammer and gave the metal plates a few wacks and problem solved!!! No issues at all since then, finally!!

SORRY FOR YOUR LUCK
did it look like this one?
if so try to get the trailer a bit more level. I just about beat my door to death trying to close it when I got mine home and parked in the driveway.
I marked where the door latch was striking the frame and noticed it was about a 1/2 inch below the bottom.
We owned ours between end October 16 and June 30th 17, when we drove 14 hours to trade it in.
75+ emails between FR warranty staff and myself fro several issues and they were not willing to assist until the last email.
We will never purchase another FR product simply because they have no CS.

X2. A loose upper hinge could cause the door to bind at the opposite corner, or possibly even a bent hinge. To check this, get on a step ladder to get yourself elevated for better leverage and lift up on the door handle and see if the door will close.
It appears that you are a newcomer. Welcome! We all have something in common and are here to help.

Entry door won't close
Check the screws that go thru the hinge and into the edge of the door!
Those screws pulled out and I had one hell of a time getting the door closed so that I could take it to our great dealer, so they could take a look at it right away. They said that they had seen this problem before. They replaced all of the original short screws with bigger diameter and much longer screws! Problem solved in less than 30 minutes and have had no problems! See attached photos. In the first photo you can see 2 very short screws that go thru the hinge.

My Solera has a Dexter door / frame / lock which came (I'd guess) as a single item from Dexter. Worked fine for a couple of years, but then wouldn't close. The sliding door latch (not the deadbolt) was sticking out too far, so wasn't hitting the striker plate on the angle (to force the latch back in...) I could close the door by holding the latch mechanism slightly open while closing the door.
Anyway, turned out that a small plastic piece inside the lock mechanism had broken, allowing the latch to extend too far. Had to replace the entire lock. So, I'd suggest checking very carefully to determine what's preventing the door from closing.
Good luck!
Dave

If the door is hitting, either the door is not square or the opening is not square. If the opening is out, it is very easy to have twisted the trailer frame when leveling the trailer. Try moving to a level spot and see if it improves
