Exhaust fans

I have a 2013 Sunseeker 2250S. We are currently camping in Delaware. Overnight the two ceiling fans in the rear of the cabin, one over the bed & the one in the bathroom, inexplicably stopped working at the same time. The fan in the front of the cabin works ok. I have checked all fuses & they appear to be ok. No breakers tripped. I know there is a plunger switch in the vent lid but seems unlikely both would fail at the same time. Any ideas where to look for the problem?

How did you check the fuses?

Visual inspection. They don’t look blown. I do plan to get extra fuses & change them anyway to see if it’s possible they are blown. Seems unlikely both would blow at the same time tho.

Are you talking about real ceiling fans or maybe exhaust fans?

My mistake. Sorry for the confusion. They are exhaust fans. They each have their own buss fuse.

Have you checked for voltage with a multimeter or test light at either the fuse, the switch or the motor?

We seem to get many queries about an electrical items not working and there is never any mention of checking the very first thing that needs to be tested... is there voltage?

Start with the fuse (power distribution box/supply area) and then move on to the switch and then on to the motor. Let us know the results.

Good suggestion. We just got this thing & still lack some items onboard, such as a volt meter. I have one at home & of course I’ll check when we get back. I just though it was odd both would quit at the same time.

No question that is odd.... but... very few things get correctly diagnosed by speculation and unless something shorts out and melts wiring, even fewer electrical items get diagnosed by just looking at them.

Multimeters are an item everyone who owns a R/V should consider carrying and know how to use.
They used to give them away at Harbor Freight but now you have to pay a few bucks. They are good enough to do basic tests.

10 minutes with a $5 multimeter will often save someone hours and $$ by not having to speculate.

Does it seem odd to anyone that each fan has its own dedicated circuit and fuse? Maybe that’s how it is but not in any coach or trailer I’ve ever owned.
