Extended Warranties

Been looking at extended warranties for the new tt we just bought. The dealership sells them from American Guardian Warren Service.

Any have this company before or know some who did?

I wouldn't buy any Extended Service plan from a dealer. Especially if they're adding the cost into financing. They charge an arm and a leg and do a great job hiding it under "your monthly payment only goes up by $3 if you add this".

That said, I did add on a Good Sam Extended Service Plan (ESP) to my camper after we owned it for 3 or 4 years. I used them once and was happy with the results AND the service spoke well of it.

We've owned 4 campers and the only extended warranty we ever bought was the 2nd Year Warranty from Forest River when it was available. I wouldn't buy one from the dealer either as they make a big profit from them. The contract might look like they cover everything but it's the fine print, and extra fine print, that'll get them out if paying for things you thought were covered.

We bought an extended warranty and was told if we didn't use it after so many years we would get a refund. The warranty company went out of business. Probably won't do that again.

Extended warranties are pure and simple profit enhancers.
Be diligent with maintenance and have warranty repairs done asap so if repeat work is necessary you don't run out of coverage.

I didn't purchase one because the only dealer that did warranty work in my area is never allowed to touch my rig again. Their craftsmanship was horrible. Take that into consideration.
