Factory Sealant Specs?

I have a 2011 FR Surveyor Eco Lite Edition SPT260. I have been lucky so far, but rig is starting to show signs of a reseal in several areas. I am gonna just scrape and reapply the whole rig over the course of the weekend. When examining the exterior sealant around the various trims and lights/fixtures, I see that it is clear and resembles silicone. Anyone know if that is what FR was using during assembly? How much of a pain in this gonna be? Just curious on experience and what y'all have found on your rig as far as sealant.

There are a lot of different caulks used by FR on the RV's. Most people use polyurethane calking when replacing caulking on vertical surfaces. The most common caulking used on horizontal surfaces is Dicor Lap Sealant. A lot of people use Eternabond tape on roof seams whenever replacing roof caulking.

Thanks Bama. Sorry it took so long to reply. I was out of town all week. I went ahead and bought some lap and no sag Dicor to start my recaulk. I think the factory vertical sealant is in fact silicone. I am not looking forward to this.

I saw a video on YouTube wherein the narrator compared a commercial silicone caulk remover with WD-40 and the WD worked pretty well...as good,at least, as the expensive professional remover...I'm going to give it a try.

Thanks for the tip Jim. I'll give it a try as well.
