Ford E450 (2005 6.8 L V-10)--How many grease points?

I found and greased only four yesterday

My 2005 Ford E450 manual has no reference to grease fittings at all

Does anyone know if I might find more than 4 grease fittings?

I located 3 on left and only one on right (passenger side) tie rod end.

Am I missing any?

BTW at age 79, it's been maybe 20 or so years since I greased car fittings, but some of us remember doing this many times on '50's and '60's cars, all of which are valuable now, huh.

Thanks--Jerry

My 2016 F53 chassis had 9. 5 on one side by steering gear and 4 on the other.

From the Ford Motorhome Chassis Maintenance Guide.. There are indeed 4 grease fittings on the E Series. Right tie rod end, Drag link end, Steering Gear Arm, and Left tie rod end.

The F-53 has a total of 9

The four you mentioned are the only grease points I know of - two on the drag link and one on each tie rod end.

I can look at mine later today and confirm.

That's all, 4 on the E450.
Mine came with zerks already installed.

Ford ships the chassis with plugs, not zerk fittings, in those four positions. I had to remind my local Ford dealer to install the zerks when they did my first oil change.

Not having zerk fittings must be something new. My 2016 (2015 chassis) came with them installed.

Yep. I had previously thought they all came with Zerk fittings installed. However, when I took my 2019 E-450 in for a front end alignment (which Forest River paid for), the guy doing the alignment said he removed the plugs, put in Zerks, and lubed the joints.

I have a 2018 E-450 Sunseeker 3010DS. So you're saying the chasis comes without the grease zerks installed and should have them installed on my next oil change? Can someone confirm just how many there should be?

Question 4 up front--but what about driveshaft?

Does E450 have a grease fitting at U joint on driveshaft? I'm new and am trying to grease all fittings. BTW my Ford E450 manual mentions no grease fittings at all.

Thanks again guys

Jerry

Not that I could find on mine. Searched the whole length, not even a plug.

It varies by year. I don't know what year Ford went to sealed u-joints. I'd check really closely...

Our 2018 E-450 chassis had four plugs that needed removed and zerks installed.

Most E-450 cutaway chassis come from Ford with a 176 inch wheelbase. Except for the shorter floor plans, most class C finished motorhomes have extended wheelbases up to about 220 inches. For Forest River, I believe MorRyde, as a chassis up fitter, does the job to extend the wheelbase. In doing so, they have to extend or add sections to the drive shaft. So the u-joint type may not necessarily going to be based on what Ford uses, or what’s described in the Ford manual, but rather based on which supplier supplies drive shafts to MORryde.

No zerks on my E-450 driveshaft

I have searched front to rear and found none

So I have four total NOT ON DRIVESHAFT..... all up front, as mentioned earlier (and are easy to grease by this 79 yr old laying on Harbor Freight folding mat......a wonderful thing)

Thanks guys
